Let customers speak for us
from 2108 reviewsI owned a similar 'kit house' and when I saw this one I had to have one for my building N-Scale layout. The kit itself is well made, a good print that assembles easily without much 'fitting'. Should paint and detail nicely.
I am pleased with the models I've bought from HD Custom and recommend them. I'll be ordering more.
To paraphrase another review I left on another HD building, I'm returning to N-Scale after some years and I'm starting a new layout. The search for structures went to the Google and I found HD Custom Designs. I grew up in central and western N.C. and many of HD's buildings hit home. I ordered 3 as a sample and was completely satisfied.
The models are3D prints with excellent detail and minimal printer artifacts. My 'General Store" only had a slight artifact on the rear awning ledger, easily removed. Haven't painted yet, but there is an excellent video on YouTube showing the painting of an HO version. ['Detailing the Arched Stone Building' by HO Scale Rio Grande in the San Luis Valley]
I'm satisfied and will be back for more.
I'm returning to N-Scale after some time in HO and was shopping for structures to detail a planned layout. After checking out the usual suspects, I fired up the Google and discovered HD Custom Design. After browsing the catalog, I placed an order for 2 buildings and a Sears house to check out HD.
I grew up in and traveled the central and western North Carolina area so I am drawn to this style architecture.
The design is quite typical of the area and much of the Southeast in general and would not be too out of place in mid-Atlantic or mid-West areas as well. Detailing is excellent and crisp, even in N. Minimal printer artifacts, my example of the cafe had none. I haven't done any painting, yet, so we'll see. Don't expect any issues. I am very satisfied with the model.
At this juncture, I would recommend that you give HD Custom a look and a try if their designs fit your needs. Other scales are available as well.
Very nice design. Looks great in my collection
This HO model is an excellent model of a period Sears home kit of the 1920s. The detail is superb and the model is sturdy and easy to work with.
Wonderful design and model
Recently purchased 8 N scale kits from these folks after seeing the HO ones my buddy bought. These paint up quite nicely and if you spend a little time with them. nice way to populate a street scene!!
The house model I just received is wonderful.
Will be ordering more to make a complete village.
Super happy with the product and the details. Buy from this Seller; you will not be disappointed!
Columns on porch too thin, some broke off, besides that loved painting them
Model is extremely well done. Clapboard and windows are to scale. No ribs are present.boight both versions and am very well pleased with everything
The model is fantastic. It is a 3d printed S Scale model. The brick work is very well done and the bricks are to scale. No sanding is needed and the building comes assembled. All in all a very well executed piece. I look forward to more items in S from them.
Pleasantly happy with this purchase. Keep’em coming in S.
I haven’t tried painting the store yet. Don’t see why there would be an issue. I thought it might need to be relegated to a background structure but it will be fine anywhere on the layout. I also bought the Sears house. Goo too. Hopefully more will be offered in S scale.
Exactly as seen looks great. Only small wish was instead of a hole designed to use with a picture hanger or nail. I wish I could screw it to the wall from the front to. Make it more stable
